Why choose us
Our strength? Our greatest strength is bringing out the best in every child.
We believe learning should inspire curiosity, encourage participation and give every student a sense of belonging within our school community.
We help every child to recognise their own talents and take charge of their own learning, gradually developing confidence, independence and effective learning habits.
We use active teaching approaches that help children and young people to grow up loving what they do at school, together with their classmates and teachers.
Our teachers work together as one team, delivering a coherent and carefully planned curriculum, in a bilingual Italian-English environment that guarantees continuity and clarity and ensures that objectives are met and skills are developed.
German is introduced from Year 3 of Primary School onwards, leading to Goethe-Institut qualifications in Middle School. A third language that opens up real opportunities in Europe and in the world of work.

An inclusive and listening community
At OIS, we know that feeling at home at school is the foundation for real learning. Thanks to the on-going care of our teachers and the support of the Educational Specialist who works alongside them, OIS is an environment that provides a nurturing environment where every child feels listened to, supported and valued.
How does that work in practice?
In the space of a single morning, pupils can work on a science project in English, discuss a topic relating to global citizenship with their classmates, and present their work to the class. Every experience begins with a question; every project opens up a new world.
- Hands-on learning: learning by doing, experimenting and making mistakes
- Collaborative learning: the group is a resource, not a source of competition
- Emotional and social skills: listening, empathy and conflict resolution are part of the curriculum
- Strong relationships: children, teachers and families are part of the same community

Bilingualism and Internationally recognised certifications

Bilingualism ande international certifications
At OIS , bilingualism is part of everyday life. Italian and English are interwoven through the CLIL method, spontaneous conversations and the constant presence of native-speaking teachers.
Languages are not just a subject but a tool for learning. This enables students to develop fluency, leading to Cambridge English Qualifications .
The international and, above all, multicultural nature of OIS is also reflected in the study of additional languages. This approach broadens the cultural and linguistic horizons of every student.
The curriculum includes German from Primary school right through to Goethe-Institut certificates. A third language that opens up real opportunities in Europe and in the world of work.
Outdoor education

Nature is an extension of the classroom.
Gardens, vegetable patches and open spaces become learning environments where pupils can explore, move around, observe and carry out projects related to sustainability.
Children learn to look after the environment when they feel they are part of it. Through peer tutoring and cooperation, every outing becomes a shared experience: it creates a bond with nature that helps children develop awareness and everyday choices.
