With us, they discover, they get excited, they learn

Since 1999, Giocomotiva’s nurseries and pre-schools have been supporting families on a bilingual and ‘Full English’ journey for children aged between 3 months and 6 years in Milan, Florence and Rome.

From the very first months of their lives, we welcome your children into a safe, stimulating environment full of opportunities, where nurturing relationships, active listening and creativity are key to helping them grow up to be confident, independent and curious.

Why do more and more families choose Giocomotiva?

Our model

Our educational project is based on nurturing relationships, listening and shared participation.

Every day, we create a safe and welcoming environment where every child can feel valued, build confidence and feel free to explore the world.

We draw inspiration from the Reggio Emilia Approach: we recognise the child as a competent and curious individual, capable of constructing knowledge through direct experience and the ‘hundred languages’. We value each child’s talents and uniqueness from the perspective of Multiple Intelligences and promote active and collaborative learning.

Bilingualism

At Giocomotiva, bilingualism is a natural, everyday experience that forms part of life in our nurseries and pre-schools from the very first months, becoming an integral part of daily routines, play, music and moments of care.

English is not taught as a separate subject, but becomes a natural tool for communicating, exploring and learning about the world. In bilingual programmes, English teachers work alongside Italian-speaking teachers, whilst in Full English schools, English is part of the whole day. This gradual immersion introduces children to different sounds and cultures.

Workshop

The Atelier is one of the iconic venues of the ‘100 languages’ approach to education: a space for exploration where ideas take shape through creativity. Children explore graphic design, modelling, light and digital media using tools that stimulate the imagination.

At Giocomotiva, the atelier’s approach is woven into everyday life and permeates every space: carefully curated environments, tools and natural resources invite children every day to explore, create and transform.

Outdoor education

At Giocomotiva, as in all Becoming Education schools, Outdoor Education is a way of experiencing school.

The outdoor environment becomes an extension of the school’s spaces: a vibrant setting in which children move about, explore using all their senses, and develop independence, curiosity and awareness.

With Outdoor Urbano, the gardens at our centres, the parks, markets and squares transform everyday life into opportunities for discovery and civic engagement. For older children at our Milan centres, the experience is enriched by a weekly day out in nature at Bosco in Città and Cascina Carpana.

Spending time outdoors in every season promotes physical and emotional wellbeing, fosters a scientific outlook and helps children to look after the environment. That is why we choose to encourage children to engage with the outdoors.

Team and educator

A dedicated team of passionate professionals works every day to create environments for learning and care, placing the relationship at the heart of everything we do. As experts in education and child development, our educators are knowledgeable about psychomotor development and monitor the children’s developmental stages using the Brazelton approach.

A qualified educational professional provides ongoing support to the educational team and acts as a reliable point of contact for parents: this support helps the team to develop and strengthens trust with families.

Emotional and Social Skills

Let us focus on nurturing relationships as the foundation of all learning.

We help children recognise what they are feeling, put names to their emotions, and resolve conflicts through conversation. We help them understand others, ask questions, wait patiently, and work together.

Every day, we create an environment where listening, connection and care come together, whilst respecting each person’s own pace.

Nutrition education

At Giocomotiva nurseries and pre-schools, mealtimes are a valuable educational experience, centred on relationships, a sense of togetherness and the pleasure of sharing a meal.

We offer seasonal, varied and balanced menus, developed in collaboration with nutritionists specialising in early childhood and approved by the relevant authorities to ensure high standards of quality and food safety. Depending on the facility, meals are prepared either in-house or by selected organic catering providers.

At mealtimes, the children develop gradual independence: they learn to use cutlery, to set and clear the table, whilst discovering different flavours and foods and building a positive relationship with seasonal produce and food. For the youngest children, the introduction of solid foods takes place in constant consultation with families and in accordance with the paediatrician’s advice, whilst also carefully supporting breastfeeding.

Teacher training

The quality of the educational experience depends fundamentally on the competence and professional development of those who work with children every day. Looking after those who educate means, in fact, looking after the children.

This is why, in Becoming Education schools, training is not a one-off event but an ongoing process that fosters competence, awareness and educational care.

The Becoming Academy is the exclusive centre dedicated to the training of all teaching staff within the Becoming Education group.

The best way to learn about Giocomotiva is to book a personalized tour or register for Open Days by filling out the contact form on the “Visit schools” page of the website. The admissions office contacts families within 24 hours to arrange a date and time. During the tour (lasting approximately 45 minutes to an hour), the coordinator welcomes parents, shows the facilities (classrooms, atelier, gym), and explains a typical day; the visit does not commit the family to enrolment, and children are welcome to attend.
